I can say from personal experience as a male Airbnb host that I did not purchase a hair dryer until a female guest asked if I had one. I did not.

I met Varsha while I worked at Airbnb. She stayed out of most things, I barely saw her, she barely spoke at company events. She seemed to be well liked, though I never heard her name while I was there except for this articles about claims of sexual harassment from her housekeeper.

A new Airbnb initiative lets hosts earn up to $1,000 by installing solar panels on their homes

Airbnb hosts can earn up to $1,000 in every market (about 20) where SolarCity operates.

SolarCity customers that become hosts will get $100 in Airbnb travel credit.
